Turkish and English translation for Australian use

The most common request is Turkish-to-English translation of official documents issued in Türkiye. Where NAATI certification is required and available, the assignment is allocated to a practitioner holding the appropriate credential for the required translation direction. English-to-Turkish translation is offered as professional translation subject to practitioner and credential availability.

Not every document or receiving organisation requires NAATI certification. Requirements vary by receiving organisation. Customers should confirm the required documents, translation direction and certification standard with the receiving authority before they order. ATIS does not determine visa, citizenship, admission, welfare or licence-conversion eligibility.

Documents we commonly translate

The documents below are commonly translated. This is not an exhaustive list, and not every listed document requires NAATI certification. If your document is not shown, select Other Document when requesting a quote.

Identity and civil-registry records

Turkish identity and civil-registry documents

We regularly assess identity and population-registration records issued in Türkiye, including the Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Kimlik Kartı (Turkish identity card), older nüfus cüzdanı identity booklets, passports, nüfus kayıt örneği civil-registration extracts, vukuatlı nüfus kayıt örneği detailed civil-registration extracts, family or population-register extracts, Yerleşim Yeri ve Diğer Adres Belgesi residence and address records, citizenship or nationality records, and name-change records where the actual document can be assessed.

Some records are issued electronically through e-Devlet. Electronic records may contain barcodes, QR codes or other visible verification details. ATIS translates the visible document. It does not independently authenticate an e-Devlet record.

Turkish identity documents may use older and newer terminology or layouts. Personal names should remain consistent with passports and previous official translations. Upload both sides of cards and every page of booklet-style documents, including covers, stamps and handwritten amendments.

Birth, marriage, divorce and death records

Civil-status documents may include birth certificates, doğum kayıt örneği birth-registration extracts, Formül A international birth-registration extracts, marriage certificates, evlilik cüzdanı marriage booklets, evlenme kayıt örneği marriage-registration extracts, Formül B international marriage-registration extracts, divorce judgments, kesinleşme şerhi annotations confirming that a judgment became final, death certificates, ölüm kayıt örneği extracts, Formül C international death-registration extracts, and related family or population-registration records.

Multilingual international extracts such as Formül A, Formül B or Formül C may already contain several languages. The receiving organisation should confirm whether a translation is still required. Not every birth or marriage document needs translation.

ATIS translates the visible record and annotations. A translated divorce judgment does not prove that the divorce is recognised in Australia. ATIS does not determine civil-status validity and does not provide family-law advice. Legal recognition is a separate question for the relevant authority or legal adviser.

Police, criminal-record and court documents

Turkish police and court files commonly include an adli sicil kaydı (criminal-record certificate), an adli sicil ve arşiv kaydı where that longer extract is issued, police reports, court judgments, prosecutorial or judicial correspondence, statements and notices, criminal and civil case documents, enforcement-related records, and stamps, seals or handwritten annotations.

A criminal-record certificate is not necessarily the same document as a police report. Electronic and paper versions may have different formats. Translation requirements depend on the receiving organisation. ATIS translates the visible text without interpreting criminal liability, legal effect or evidentiary sufficiency.

Not every visa or citizenship application requires a particular police document. Customers should confirm the required record with the authority requesting it, and upload all pages, attachments and finality annotations.

Education and employment documents

We assess diplomas, degree certificates, academic transcripts, not dökümü grade transcripts, student-status documents, graduation certificates, school certificates, vocational and professional qualifications, training certificates, employment certificates, reference letters, payslips and salary records, SGK service records where the service is available, and related business or professional documents.

Turkish academic records may include bilingual Turkish and English content, course names and grades, credit systems, institutional seals, electronic verification features and diploma supplements. ATIS is not affiliated with Turkish universities and does not guarantee Australian university admission, qualification recognition or skills-assessment outcomes.

Customers should confirm submission and certification requirements with the university, employer, professional body or skills-assessment authority. Related pages include academic transcript translation, diploma translation and degree certificate translation.

Property, inheritance and legal documents

We can assess a tapu senedi (title deed), land-registry extracts, sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements, vekâletname powers of attorney, court judgments, contracts, notarial documents, wills, a veraset ilamı or mirasçılık belgesi (inheritance certificate), probate and estate-related records, company and commercial documents, and tax or financial records where appropriate.

Turkish property and inheritance documents may contain specialised legal, cadastral and registry terminology. Complete scans must include schedules, stamps, notarial endorsements and reverse pages. Translation does not establish ownership, legal validity or entitlement.

ATIS does not provide conveyancing, probate, inheritance or legal advice. Customers should confirm evidentiary requirements with their lawyer, court or receiving authority. See also legal document translation.

Medical, Centrelink, Medicare and aged-care documents

ATIS can assess Turkish-language documents intended for Centrelink, Medicare, healthcare or aged-care administration. Typical files include medical reports, hospital records, medical certificates, vaccination or treatment records, disability or functional-assessment records, Centrelink correspondence, Medicare correspondence, aged-care records and supporting documents, pension or retirement records, and administrative forms or letters.

Customers should confirm the required documents and certification standard with the relevant organisation. ATIS provides translation services. It does not determine Centrelink eligibility, advise on Medicare entitlements, provide medical advice, complete benefit applications as an authorised government representative, or guarantee acceptance. ATIS is not affiliated with Centrelink, Medicare or an aged-care regulator.

Official documents prepared for certified English translation in Australia

Turkish-document accuracy

Turkish uses a Latin alphabet with characters that do not appear in English: Ç, Ğ, İ, ı, Ö, Ş and Ü. Dotted İ/i and dotless I/ı are different letters. Those distinctions matter for names, place names and registry numbers and should be preserved from the source page.

  • Personal names should match the passport spelling and any previous official translation where those records are supplied.
  • Turkish surnames are often written in full capitals on official records. Maiden names and former surnames are translated as they appear, not rearranged into an assumed Australian order.
  • Dates, identity numbers and registry numbers are taken from the visible text, including older and newer document formats.
  • Official seals, stamps, signatures and handwritten annotations are translated or described where they are legible.
  • Bilingual Turkish/English records, e-Devlet printouts and visible verification details are assessed from the page as issued.
  • Tables and multi-page registry extracts need every page. Faded, cropped or low-resolution scans are assessed from the visible, legible content only. Unclear portions may be marked as unreadable rather than guessed.

Upload complete colour scans or photographs, every page, both sides of cards, covers and identity pages of booklets, all stamps, seals and endorsements, the passport spelling of names, and previous official translations where consistency matters. Perfect name conversion or automatic acceptance is not promised. This page does not offer Ottoman Turkish translation.

Apostilles, notarisation and legalisation

ATIS may translate a visible Turkish apostille, a notarial endorsement and the attached document where that service is available. ATIS does not issue, authenticate, notarise or legalise apostilles, and does not provide consular legalisation or government-process advice.

Customers should confirm with the receiving authority whether they need the original document, an apostille, a translation, notarisation or another certification step.
