Bulgarian-to-English and English-to-Bulgarian translation

ATIS has NAATI Certified Bulgarian translators on its panel and can engage a suitable practitioner when required. The applicable certified language direction and document-format requirements are confirmed for each assignment. We confirm the relevant certified language direction, document format and timeframe for each assignment. The quote process records document type, intended use, receiving country or authority, deadline and digital or hard-copy requirements.

Bulgarian to English

ATIS can arrange a suitable NAATI Certified Bulgarian translator for Bulgarian documents that need an English translation for appropriate Australian uses. Each assignment confirms the translator’s applicable certified direction; the receiving authority’s current requirements; the required stamp, certification statement or digital format; and whether an original, certified copy or electronic version is required. Common uses include visa and citizenship applications, overseas driver-licence matters, university or TAFE applications, skills assessments, professional registration, employment, family and civil matters, legal proceedings, and banking, taxation or financial review.

English to Bulgarian

ATIS can assist with English-language documents intended for Bulgarian-speaking recipients or presentation in Bulgaria. Common uses include civil registration, family matters, citizenship and residency processes, education, employment, powers of attorney, property or inheritance matters, business transactions, medical treatment and legal correspondence. Australian NAATI certification does not automatically satisfy every Bulgarian or European legal, apostille, notarisation or consular requirement. Requirements depend on the receiving organisation and intended use.

Bulgarian documents commonly translated into English

These documents are commonly requested for translation. The list is not exhaustive, and not every listed document requires translation. If your document is not shown, request a quote.

Identity and civil-status documents

Employment, financial and driver licences

  • Employment contracts
  • Employer reference and experience letters
  • Employment record books, where applicable
  • Payslips
  • Tax documents
  • Social-security and pension records
  • Bank statements
  • Business registrations and company records
  • Invoices and financial statements
  • Bulgarian driver licences

A свидетелство за съдимост is a criminal record certificate. It is not described as a police-clearance certificate in every context, because terminology varies by issuing body and intended use.

English-language documents commonly translated into Bulgarian

Australian and other English-language documents are commonly requested for translation when they will be read by a Bulgarian-speaking recipient or filed in Bulgaria. These documents do not universally require translation.

Immigration and Home Affairs documents

ATIS can arrange a suitable NAATI Certified Bulgarian translator for documents commonly used in Australian immigration and citizenship processes. Typical supporting papers include birth certificates, marriage and divorce documents, criminal record certificates, passports and identity cards, citizenship records, name-change documents, family and relationship evidence, employment references, payslips and financial evidence, academic qualifications and skills-assessment documents.

Current Home Affairs skilled-visa guidance states that non-English documents must be translated into English; that translations completed in Australia should include the translator’s NAATI practitioner number; and that translations completed outside Australia should include the translator’s name, address, telephone number and qualifications. See the official guidance at immi.homeaffairs.gov.au.

Not every visa category uses an identical checklist. Original-language documents may also need to be supplied. Confirm the current instructions for your particular application. This page does not provide migration advice, does not guarantee acceptance or a visa outcome, and does not imply affiliation with Home Affairs or NAATI.

Bulgarian Driver Licence Translation

Australian requirements differ by state or territory. A Bulgarian licence that is not in English may require an English translation or an International Driving Permit for driving or licence transfer. ATIS has Bulgarian translators on its panel who can provide NAATI-certified work where the relevant direction and required format match the licensing authority’s requirements. Customers should confirm the current translation, certification and document-format requirements with the relevant state or territory licensing authority before ordering.

Translation does not determine whether testing, identity checks or licence-transfer eligibility applies. A translation does not receive automatic acceptance from every Australian licensing authority, does not remove testing requirements, and does not mean Bulgaria is treated identically by every state. One electronic format is not sufficient for all Australian licensing authorities. An emailed PDF is not sufficient where an original stamp or another format is required.

Academic documents and skills assessments

Bulgarian diplomas, transcripts, diploma supplements, course outlines, vocational certificates, professional licences and employment evidence are commonly used for university and TAFE applications, recognition of prior learning, skills assessments, professional registration and employment qualification checks.

ATIS does not promise acceptance by every university, TAFE provider, assessing authority or registration body. Confirm current certification and document-format requirements with the receiving organisation. Related pages include academic transcript translation, degree certificate translation and diploma translation.

Written translation can be arranged for court orders, divorce decisions, parenting and custody documents, affidavits, statutory declarations, powers of attorney, contracts, wills, probate and inheritance documents, property documents, police and criminal records, and supporting correspondence. See also legal document translation.

Document translation is distinct from interpreting at a hearing, interview, conference or appointment. This page does not advertise Bulgarian interpreting. ATIS does not provide legal advice, does not guarantee admissibility, is not affiliated with any court, and does not say that every Australian or Bulgarian court accepts every translation.

Medical, financial and business documents

Medical

Medical reports, specialist letters, hospital records, vaccination certificates, prescriptions, health-insurance correspondence and medical certificates can be assessed for translation. Translation is not medical advice. Related: medical translation.

Financial and property

Bank statements, tax assessments, pension records, property ownership records, loan-supporting documents and inheritance records can be assessed. Translation is not financial or legal advice. Related: bank statement translation.

Business

Company registrations, ASIC documents, contracts, constitutional documents, powers of attorney, invoices, financial statements and commercial correspondence can be assessed. Translation does not confirm legal validity or commercial effect. Related: business translation.

Translating Australian Documents for Use in Bulgaria

Translating a document into Bulgarian is separate from obtaining an apostille, DFAT authentication, certifying a copy, notarising a signature, consular certification, or meeting a Bulgarian authority’s filing requirements.

European e-Justice information for Bulgaria describes procedures for certified translations, including different treatment for translations prepared inside and outside Bulgaria. Translations prepared outside Bulgaria may require certification of the translator’s signature by a Bulgarian diplomatic or consular representation, depending on the procedure. That source concerns particular public-document procedures and must not be generalised to every Australian document or Bulgarian recipient. See e-justice.europa.eu.

Requirements for documents presented in Bulgaria depend on the document, issuing country and receiving authority. You may need an apostille, certified copy, notarial step or consular certification in addition to translation. Confirm the complete process with the Bulgarian authority or consular office before ordering.

NAATI certification does not automatically satisfy Bulgarian domestic requirements. ATIS does not provide apostilles, notarisation or consular certification. Not every Australian document must be apostilled, and not every Bulgarian authority follows one identical process. Current DFAT legalisation guidance is published at smartraveller.gov.au.

Bulgarian Cyrillic names and transliteration

Bulgarian uses the Cyrillic alphabet. The spelling of a person’s name in English should normally be checked against their passport or the receiving authority’s records.

  • Historical documents can contain different Latin-script spellings of the same name.
  • Name consistency can matter in visa, university, licensing and legal applications.
  • Provide a passport or another authoritative spelling reference where appropriate.
  • A translator should not silently alter an official spelling to make different documents appear consistent.

ATIS does not resolve legal identity discrepancies. Ask the receiving authority how name variations should be handled.

How the service works

  1. 1 Upload a clear scan or photograph

Send every relevant page through Get a Quote. Clear scans may be sufficient for quoting; the receiving authority may still require originals or certified copies.

  2. 2 Specify direction, use and deadline

State Bulgarian to English or English to Bulgarian, the document type, intended receiving organisation and country, required certification format, deadline, and digital or hard-copy needs.

  3. 3 Receive a confirmed quote

You receive a confirmed quote, credential assessment and timeframe before translation begins. The quote is not instant and does not confirm that work has started.

  4. 4 Receive the completed translation

A suitable translator completes the work. The translation is supplied through the digital delivery options ATIS already offers. Ask when you request your quote if you need another option the service already provides.

Urgent service may be available depending on the document, language direction, certification requirements and translator availability.

Pricing

Pricing depends on the translation direction, document type, length, formatting, certification requirements and timeframe. Upload your document for a confirmed quote.
